Published school board / CareerTech filing window. Confirm hours and packet contents on oklahoma.gov.
30 days before (by ~Nov 7, 2026)
- Confirm which seat/office is on the ballot with the district or county election board
- Read the SEB Board of Education filing packet end-to-end
- Decide treasurer / bank account plan if you expect to raise or spend money
- Start warm donor conversations — do not use the state voter file for commercial solicitation
14 days before
- Notary plan for the Candidate Information and Oath
- Download/print Voter Registration Verification from the OK Voter Portal
- Draft website/Facebook disclaimer language if you will advertise as a committee
- Ethics threshold planning: >$1,000 → register (local campaigns)
7 days before
- Complete Criminal History Disclosure if required
- Qualifications and Requirements form signed
- Confirm filing location (supervision county vs residence county)
1 day before / filing week
- Arrive with complete packet; filing typically 8 a.m.–5 p.m. each day Dec 7–9
- Know the contest-of-candidacy deadline after close (packet)
- Have your first post-filing donor asks ready
